Savory Bread Pudding with Artichokes and Goat Cheese

September 11, 2016 by Molly Leave a Comment

Savory Bread Pudding

There’s just something about bread pudding that is super comforting. Sweet or savory, it doesn’t really matter. Bread pudding is one of those great things that you can whip up and use whatever you have in the house. It rarely requires a special trip to the store, just some old bread, eggs, milk, and then whatever you want to dress it up with. I opted for goat cheese and artichokes because the combo is superb AND I happened to have both in the house!

For this recipe I scooped the mixture into extra-large tulip baking liners, creating individual servings. This was a game time decision and they turned out better than I had hoped. How cute would these be for a baby/wedding shower?! I’ll definitely keep this one in my back pocket for upcoming events!

Cinnamon Twist Bread

Cinnamon Swirl Bread

Soooo…. I’ve been on a little bit of a work related hiatus.  I won’t bore you with the details but, man, the last month or so has been out of control busy.  BUT, I’m back. Officially!

And what better way to come back than with some ridiculous cinnamon twist bread.  Let me break it down – this stuff tastes just like a cinnamon roll but with about half the work. AND it looks pretty impressive, right?!  If you want to take the cinnamon rolli-ness to the next level you could easily spread a quick frosting on top.  My taste testers felt fairly strongly that it was perfect stand alone but, let’s be honest, frosting makes everything better.

Bouchon Bakery’s Banana Muffins

March 10, 2016 by Molly Leave a Comment

Bouchon's Banana Muffins

If you haven’t been to Bouchon Bakery in Yountville, CA, you’re missing out.  Bouchon, in my humble opinion, is a baker’s mecca.  Everything they make is stunning and oh-so-delicious.  Beyond that, Thomas Keller’s Bouchon Bakery cook book is awesome.  It has recipes for everything they sell in the bakery but, more interestingly, there are dozens of notes, tips, and facts about the art of baking.  I received this book 3 years ago as a Christmas gift and I still reference it every couple of weeks.

I’ve been making these muffins for years and they get rave reviews every time.  I haven’t changed the recipe at all because they’re… well… perfect.  Seriously, there is no better recipe for banana muffins out there.  If you follow the recipe exactly you’ll need a kitchen scale so you can weigh all of your ingredients.  I actually prefer this method when I bake but it does take time to adjust to.

Olive Oil Granola

Olive Oil Ganola

I really love granola. Especially homemade granola. It’s super easy and so much better than anything you can get at the store. The olive oil makes it a little different. And by differernt I mean amazing. I like dried apricots and pistachios in my granola but you can add pretty much anything that appeals to you. Dried sour cherries and almonds, cranberries and pecans, golden raisins and walnuts…

Granola is one of my favorite homemade gifts to give around the holidays. It stays fresh for at least a month, is cost efficient, and looks super cute in a mason jar with a pretty bow.

This stuff is addictive. I’m warning you now…

Lightened Up Banana Bread

Lightened Up Banana Bread

I’ve been loving the cooler weather lately.  It’s been a long time coming for us in the Bay Area and it FINALLY feels like winter.  This is my favorite time a year for cooking…. soups, stews, and cozy baked goods.

Banana bread is one those super comforting foods that everyone loves.  This recipe is lightened up and oh so tasty.  It’s light, moist, and very banana-y.  Although I’ve never met a banana bread recipe that I didn’t like this is my favorite.

Pumpkin Ale Muffins

November 21, 2015 by Molly Leave a Comment

Pumpkin Muffins made with pumpkin ale. Easy, delicious, and oh so pumpkin-y.

So here it is… my VERY FIRST POST! When I first decided that I needed a project I thought a blog would be a piece of cake. I mean how hard could it be? Turns out, it’s harder than it looks. I’m not what you would call computer savvy so every photo edit, every style change, and every attempt to use code is a small victory. I’m slowly but surely getting the hang of it and, so far, couldn’t be more excited about this little project of mine.

On to the important stuff… THE FOOD! These muffins are pretty much perfect. Let’s be honest, regular old pumpkin muffins are good but pumpkin muffins with BEER are great! These muffins are slightly sweet, super moist, and I love the crunch of the flax seeds. The oat streusel crumble is one of my favorite things to have in the freezer. It’s really versatile and can jazz up just about any quick bread or muffin. So good!…
